The Oropa Botanical garden is 1,200 metres above sea level 12 miles from the town of Biella.
From the A4 Turin-Milan motorway, exit at Santhià and follow directions to Biella and the Oropa Sanctuary for about 35 km. The Garden is behind the Sanctuary near the Oropa-Mucrone cable-car; here you can take a trip up to Lake Mucrone at 1900 metres asl.
